Mumbai.

This is somewhate in response to MSC's post on Mumbai and revenue allocation on
http://manishchauhan.blogspot.com/

There is no comparison between Ambani's and Mumbai. Revenue is collected from people (who reside in cities, and villages) to spend on public works. If Mumbai contributes a large percentage of its wealth towards public works it should get back a significant percentage. Just as, if you pay a large amount of money towards garbage collection, you would expect the dump outside your house to get cleared. Revenue is not charity. A percentage of it may be, but I think Mumbai is being made to be far more charitable than is good for its health. I really feel for it

I am not sure if Mumbai is not getting enough money. Though I am sure that it is not getting utilised efficiently. As efficiently, as it's people are.

The 'facts & figures' of the revenue generation also need correction. One Reliance Industries Limited is registered there, so it pays tax through Mumbai. It's another stroy that most of the revenue is generated from the refinery in Gujurat.

There are many such stories of Tata's, Birlas, HLLs - the whole Goddamn industry.

The idea is not to demand money by stating it's collection which is idiotic. The idea is to demand money for genuine need. Not for politicians.
